Description

Het groepsportret toont de borstbeelden van vier mannen met lang haar (pruiken) die zijn gehuld in antieke toga's. De man geheel rechts houdt een tekening vast waarop Chronos als personificatie van de tijd is afgebeeld die de vleugels van Cupido kortwiekt. Op de rechterachtergrond van de tekening, die met de letters G.F. is gesigneerd, is een pilaar met zandloper afgebeeld als teken van vergankelijkheid. De tekening wordt mede vastgehouden door de tweede persoon van links, met de rode mantel, die in zijn andere hand een krijthouder vasthoudt. De geportretteerden zijn gesitueerd in een binnenruimte met links op de achtergrond een arcade met klassieke architectuur en met rechts een reliëf in medaillonvorm, waarop een jongen is te zien die wordt geflankeerd door twee volwassen personen in klassieke kledij.
