Description

Gezicht vanuit vogelvluchtperspectief op het waaiervormige eiland Deshima. Op voorgrond verbindingspoort met vaste land en deel van bebouwde oever. Eiland is in de lengterichting bebouwd; rechtsvoor hoge mast met rood-wit-blauwe vlag. Afgebeeld zijn twintig personen, verdeeld over het eiland. Geheel boven: water met daarop twee roeiboten (één open en één met overkapping). Op voorgrond: gesloten poort en trap die naar bebouwde oever loopt waar negen boten liggen aangemeerd en een open roeiboot vaart. Op de oever zijn een aantal huizen en delen van bomen zichtbaar, evenals zesentwintig personen. Kleuren van schildering: blauw, rose, bruin/grijs en groen. Afbeelding is op zijde gespannen met houten ondergrond; dit raamwerk zit in klein passepartout dat is bespannen met grijs textiel; glas ervoor. Dit geheel is gevat in houten gelakte lijst. Zwart lakwerk ingelegd met parelmoer in blad- en bloemmotieven. Langs glasrand zit goudlakwerk. Keerzijde: zwart houten plank met twee verticale gleuven.
