Her \u003cspan class=\"text-link\" onclick=\"javascript:link(84, 1552, event);\"\u003eattribute\u003c\/span\u003e, the spiked wheel that miraculously splintered apart, accompanies Saint Catherine, and \u003cspan class=\"text-link\" onclick=\"javascript:link(84, 1698, event);\"\u003eSaint Thomas\u003c\/span\u003e kneels, hands open in astonishment. \u003cbr\u003e  \u003cbr\u003e For his refined \u003cspan class=\"text-link\" onclick=\"javascript:link(84, 556, event);\"\u003ecomposition\u003c\/span\u003e, Giuseppe Salviati employed elongated figures in exaggerated poses typical of the \u003cspan class=\"text-link\" onclick=\"javascript:link(84, 1229, event);\"\u003eMannerist\u003c\/span\u003e style. Most striking is the study's lushness, which Salviati achieved through a fluid application of ink, wash, and \u003cspan class=\"text-link\" onclick=\"javascript:link(84, 355, event);\"\u003ebodycolor\u003c\/span\u003e combined across the blue paper. Contrasting the white bodycolor against both the colored paper and deep darks of his washes and ink created a dramatic \u003cspan class=\"text-link\" onclick=\"javascript:link(84, 360, event);\"\u003echiaroscuro\u003c\/span\u003e.
