In the lower right corner, Aurelio Luini quickly sketched the figure of an \u003cspan class=\"text-link\" onclick=\"javascript:link(84, 1547, event);\"\u003eapostle\u003c\/span\u003e, which he later used in a \u003cspan class=\"text-link\" onclick=\"javascript:link(84, 365, event);\"\u003efresco\u003c\/span\u003e. Near the bottom of the page stand two larger figures of Mary Magdalene, each holding a jar of ointment with which to anoint the feet of \u003cspan class=\"text-link\" onclick=\"javascript:link(84, 1723, event);\"\u003eJesus\u003c\/span\u003e \u003cspan class=\"text-link\" onclick=\"javascript:link(84, 1717, event);\"\u003eChrist\u003c\/span\u003e. Above, on the right, a woman--possibly the figure of Charity--holds a child in either arm. Scholars are unable to identify the other figures. The number in the top left of the sheet suggests that it once formed part of Luini's sketchbook. \u003cbr\u003e  \u003cbr\u003e Luini swiftly drew the outline of each figure first in brown ink, deftly indicating the volume of the forms simply by varying the length and curve of the strokes. He then used brown wash and rich areas of white \u003cspan class=\"text-link\" onclick=\"javascript:link(84, 367, event);\"\u003eheightening\u003c\/span\u003e to create a subtle, luminous effect.
